About the Site and Camping at East Kingdom 50 Year Celebration

Schaghticoke Fairgrounds (http://www.schaghticokefair.com/) sits on 50 acres of level ground. All of the camping area is level and mowed. We cannot dig fire pits, sump pits or shower pits. There are coin operated showers on site and if pre-registration numbers are high enough, we can bring in shower trailers (this is why pre-registration is important!)

REGARDING TENT CAMPING:

For tent camping, we are attempting to do a land allotment system to get groups fit into the space well. We are going to use the Pennsic number of 250sq ft/pp. When determining camp layout, please keep in mind that this is only a four day event and we cannot dig sump pits. This may impact your planning and reduce the need to preregister ghosts.

REGARDING RV CAMPING:

The Fairgrounds have 75+ RV sites with hookups. If you would like to bring your RV, there is a $75 charge on top of the event cost. This is what the Fairgrounds charges us.

REGARDING DISABILITY CAMPING:

There is an area set aside for disability camping. This area is close to the center of the event and handicapped parking. There are grassy areas between short gravel paths that lead out to paved areas to get around the event. There will be a charging station available.

REGARDING PETS AND SERVICE ANIMALS:

No pets are permitted. This includes (but is not limited to) ferrets, dogs, cats, birds, rabbits and snakes.
Fully trained ADA qualifying service animals are permitted. All service animals must check-in with the Disability Services Coordinator.

REGARDING DAYTRIPPERS:

If you decide to daytrip EK50YC and are staying offsite, your event fee includes admission to the event for all the days and parking in the “daytrip lot”. When you check in, let the gate crew know you are going to daytrip. You will be given a different car tag and given instructions on how to proceed to the parking area.

REGARDING FIRE PITS:

Dug fire pits are not allowed. Raised fire bowls or pits are allowed. Please have some form of fire extinguishing materials handy.

REGARDING TOILETS AND PORTA-POTTIE PLACEMENT:

NYS Law requires one handwashing station per five porta-potties. This makes for interesting porta-pottie placement at the event. More than likely, porta potties will be placed in groups of five, placed more towards the center of camping blocks rather than having 2-3 potties here and 2-3 potties there. This may be a concern for some attendees or their children. This information is provided so that you can plan accordingly. There are several flush toilets in buildings throughout the site, as well.
